CAE Engineer

Analytical thinker with strong computer simulation skills.

As a CAE Engineer you are responsible for the Virtual Validation (CAE) of our Products using high-end FEA software. In this position you work closely with the Lead Engineers, Project Engineers and Test Engineers and report directly to the Validation Manager.

As a CAE Engineer your main tasks and responsibilities are:

·         Conduct stress analysis on components and assemblies using FEA (Finite Element Analysis);

·         Translate the customer requirements, specifications and expectations into a CAE design verification plan;

·         Pro-actively correlate the CAE results with physical test results in order to increase the accuracy of the CAE calculations;

·         Communicate and report the virtual validation status in internal (project) meetings and teams;

·         Translate CAE results into clear presentations and reports;

·         Develop and implement new simulation capabilities;

·         Deliver input for defining the strategy and objectives of virtual testing as part of the Validation Department;

·         Participate in setting up the DFMEA for new products and developments;

·         Work with CAE counterpart at customers and Inalfa CAE departments globally;

·         Provide support in root cause analysis;

·         Pro-actively work on continues improvement (Lean thinking philosophy);

·         Plan and commit to the agreed CAE workload planning;

·         Efficient and in time planning of CAE computer systems;

·         Play a pro-active role in the development of new Products.

 What do we expect from you?

You have a finished degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering / Physics or Mathematics on a MsC or BsC level. You have at least 3 years experience with CAE engineering. Automotive experience is a plus but not always necessary. We do expect you to have experience with Hypermesh, Hyperview and Abaqus. As a professional you have good computer simulations skills and strong analytical skills. In your work you’re able to translate complex CAE results into clear presentations. As the automotive industry is focused on Quality you are as well. Therefore you bring good problem solving skills with a pragmatic and pro-active approach. It is important to have good communication skills in English. Dutch, German and French are a plus.
