  You probably think of SKF as the world leader in rolling bearings? Then you are right, because we are. Our high quality bearings have made us one of the most respected brands in the industrial world. But this is a limited picture of us. There are many other exciting dimensions to today's SKF. We have step by step evolved into a genuine knowledge engineering company.

  To strengthen this process, we have identified five different platforms that cover our technical knowledge and capabilities: Bearings and units, Seals, Mechatronics, Lubrication systems and Services which include technical support, maintenance services, condition monitoring and training. By utilizing capabilities from all or some of the platforms, SKF develops tailor-made offers for each customer segment, helping customers improve performance, reduce energy use and lower total costs, while bringing increased added value to SKF.

  SKF was founded in 1907 and grew at a rapid rate to become a global company. As early as 1920, the company was well established in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Africa. Today, SKF is represented in more than 130 countries. The company has more than 100 manufacturing sites and sales companies supported by about 15,000 distributor locations. We operate in around 40 customer segments, whereof examples include cars and light trucks, wind energy, railway, machine tool, medical, food and beverage and paper industries.

  Research and Development:

  SKF has over 100 year’s experience of innovation and continuous development of technologies, new products, solutions and services. SKF ERC- The Engineering & Research Centre is the central R&D facility in SKF worldwide and located in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands.

   

  SKF ERC has got an extensive expertise in the fields of machine and system dynamics, tribology and analytical modeling together with specific research and development processes. ERC integrates knowledge from many scientific, technical, and industry specific sources to improve the full understanding and applications of bearings and SKF’s other products and solutions. This is vital for developing and increasing SKF’s products performance and services, to deliver the best technical solutions.

   

  Serving our customers:

  Since the early years of SKF, we have a local presence. Wherever customers are located, local expertise, supported by global industrial specialists and technical experts, combine the required SKF skills to be able to make a specific offer for customers, which meets their local needs.
  The Industrial Market organization in the Netherlands has its focus on the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) providing innovative, high quality products, solutions and services. We drive sales and development from our offices in Nieuwegein, Ridderkerk and Enschede for the Netherlands and have a key position in providing solutions and products worldwide.
